This group selects a National Childrens Poet Laureate and sponsors every Friday as poetry day in the children's book blog world. The first National Children's Poet Laureate was Jack Prelutsly(2006-2008) and the current one is Elizabeth Acevado (2022-2024). Others were Mary Ann Hoberman (2008-2011), J. Patrick Lewis (2011-2013), and Kenn Nesbitt (2013-2016), Jacqueline Woodson (2015-2017), Margarita Engle (2017-2019), and Naomi Shihab Nye (2019-2021) The site includes links to a poetry archive and suggested collections for schools and libraries.
